Seireitei The Seireitei (瀞霊廷, Court of Pure Souls) is the centralmost portion of the Soul Society. It is a circular castle-city surrounded by massive walls of Sekkiseki stone. The Seireitei resembles a Japanese castle-town of the Edo or Meiji periods with paved grey streets and white mortared buildings with orange tile roofs clustered within. The Seireitei is populated only by the members of the Gotei 13. It houses all 13 Divisions of the organization as well as the Shinō Academy. Most members of the Gotei 13 live within the division barracks, while officers often commute from their own homes within the Toryōseiku. Toryōseiku The Toryōseiku (央霊政区; Central Spiritual Administrative District) is a collection of six districts surrounding the Seireitei. These districts house the upper middle class and upper class of the Soul Society—including the nobility. Five of the districts are controlled by and named after each of the Five Great Noble Houses. These districts house businesses, lower noble houses, merchants, etc. that are affiliated with the district's noble house. The sixth district is reserved for those that are not affiliated with any of the Great Noble Houses (usually officers of the Gotei 13). The six districts have similar architecture to the Seireitei, with differences being the color schemes of buildings and streets. There are four major paths through the Toryōseiku that are operated by the Gotei and are usually kept free of anything but cross-traffic. Rukongai The Rukongai (流魂街; Wandering Soul City) is the largest portion of Soul Society and the most populated. It surrounds the Toryōseiku on all sides. The Rukongai is divided into 320 districts (80 in North Rukongai, 80 in West Rukongai, etc.), each numbered in descending order on how far they are from the center; this results in the higher-numbered (and farther) districts decaying into slums. Thus, while District 1 is peaceful and lawful, District 80 is a hardscrabble, violent, crime-infested area. Each district has a unique name and covers a large territory. Some districts are broken down further into wards, but this is not standardized.	0	0
