Red Division

Kasōteki-han (仮想敵班; Virtual Enemy Troop) is the official name for a small, specialized sub-group of the Gotei 13. It is more colloquially known as the Sekiyo-tai (赤蓉隊; Red Lotus Corps)—the Red Division. All of the members of this group are Vizards—and their numbers constitute the entire Vizard populace in the Gotei 13. The Kasōteki-han has three official duties and one unofficial duty.

• Duty One: Anti-Hollow Training The Kasōteki-han are used for specialized training against Hollow abilities, such as Cero. They usually partner with the Shinōreijutsuin for this, but sometimes other Divisions request their particular abilities for "refresher courses."
  
• Duty Two: Vizard Subjugation The Kasōteki-han, due to being Vizards themselves, are used as an anti-Vizard task force. Any reports of Vizard sightings is sent to the Kasōteki-han who then investigate. Vizards are dealt with in a variety of ways, primarily with offers of recruitment. However, the Kasōteki-han are authorized to arrest and, if truly required, execute Vizards who refuse.
  
• Duty Three: Vizard Training With a growing number of Vizards, the Kasōteki-han is tasked with training Vizards in how to best control their Hollow abilities. If a Vizard is enrolled at Kasōteki-han Shinōreijutsuin, then a member of Kasōteki-han will act as a teaching assistant when the student is to be learning the Zankensoki.

The unofficial duty is to segregate the Vizards from the Gotei 13 as a whole. Vizard acceptance is still a new concept, and the hope is that their performance alongside the Gotei will allow them to one day be allowed into regular service.

Members of the Kasōteki-han wear a standard Shihakushō with either two red armbands (one on each arm) or a red sash across their chest to signfify their membership. The organization of the Kasōteki-han is similar to a Division, but due to its lower member count it only goes up to 5th Seat for officer positions.
